Internet Time Server

Sometimes you may find out that your Server Time is not Syncing and that the "Windows Time" in Services has been disabled, this could off been cause by a number of issues.

Firstly ensure that you change the "Windows Time" Services from "Disabled" to "Automatic"

Check what "Internet Time Server" your Server is running by doing the following;

NET TIME /QUERY

Hopefully, you get a result as shown below;

The current SNTP value is: time.windows.com,0x1

Ensure that the "NTP" Port is open in your Router or Firewall.

Now you need to do the following;

1. net stop w32time

2. net start w32time

3. w32tm /resync

If successful on the last command you will be displayed "The command Completed Successfully", if not check the Event Logs.

"Help and Support" is missing after you upgrade to Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), Help and Support is missing when you click Start. Additionally, the Help menu is missing in programs that are running on the Windows Server 2003 SP2-based computer.

Additionally, when you type msinfo32.exe or Helpctr.exe at a command prompt to try to start Help and Support manually, you receive the following error message:
Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not running. To fix this problem, start the service named 'Help and Support'.
However, when you start the Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, the Help and Support service is not listed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, reinstall the Help and Support service. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.

2. At the command prompt, locate the following folder: %windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries

3. At the command prompt, type the following commands, and then press ENTER after each command:

• HelpSvc.exe /regserver /svchost netsvcs /RAInstall
• HSCUpd.exe -i hscmui.cab
• HSCUpd.exe -i hscsp_s3.cab

Note The following commands do not apply to some language versions of Windows Server 2003:

• HSCUpd.exe -i hscmui.cab
• HSCUpd.exe -i hscsp_s3.cab

The reason is that the Hscmui.cab compressed file is not included in some language versions of Windows Server 2003, such as the Japanese version of Windows Server 2003.

SBS Performance Reports "Page cannot be displayed"

When I attempt to access the Performance reports on an SBS 2003 server, I get the error "Page cannot be displayed".

Based on my experience, the issue might be a bit complex than it appears.
To troubleshoot the issue, we usually need to spend quite some time to perform steps to find the problem cause due to complexity on technical side. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation during the troubleshooting process.

Suggestion 1: This issue may occurs if the files in the
c:\inetpub\monitoring folder are SBS 2003 RTM files. The SBSMonitoring
Database has been updated to SBS 2003 SP1.

You can either reapply SP1 for SBS 2003 or manually update the files.

http://download.microsoft....84-97D755345F59/SBS2003-KB885918-SP1-X86-ENU.EXE

To manually update the files:
1. Extract the files from SBS 2003 SP1 (run command
SBS2003-KB885918-SP1-X86-ENU.EXE /x)
2. Backup c:\inetpub\monitoring
3. Copy:
C:\SP1Extract\cd3\sbs\monitor\reports\configure.htm to C:\Inetpub\Monitoring
C:\SP1Extract\cd3\sbs\monitor\reports\ctrl_datepicker30.htc to
C:\Inetpub\Monitoring
